IMDB rating: 6.20 Plot: A philosophical burlesque, Human Nature follows the ups and downs of an obsessive scientist, a female naturalist, and the man they discover, born and raised in the wild. As scientist Nathan (Robbins) trains the wild man, Puff (Ifans) in the ways of the world – starting with table manners – Nathan’s lover Lila (Arquette) fights to preserve the man’s simian past, which represents a freedom enviable to most. In the power struggle that ensues, an unusual love triangle emerges exposing the perversities of the human heart and the idiosyncrasies of the civilized mind. Human Nature is a comical examination of the trappings of desire in a world where both nature and culture are idealized. |

What is the psychological implication of squeezing?
Why do humans squeeze loved or cute things, live or stuffed? What is the psychology behind this behavior? Is it culturally relative or intrinsic to the nature of humans?
I think that squeezing is just an enunciated form of hugging / patting / tactile stimulation.
I can’t really elaborate on the psychological implications of that as a whole; it is a social connection based on some form of relayed known sensation. People have an inherent need for social interaction; all input comes from one of the five senses; people have an intrinsic need for sensory stimulation.

i read in my psychology book something about hugging and the physiological benefits. i think it’s like reduced heart rate by a certain amount, or reduced breathing and a sense of peace or calmness, reduced stress idk, something like this tho.
